Clinical and School- based Work

Alex provides play and talk therapies for children aged 3+, adults, families, and couples at Wasatch Family Therapy. She is supervised by Dr. Clair Mellenthin, PhD, LCSW. She is accepting new clients aged 3+ in Farmington on Mondays, and in Sandy on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Alex is also accepting virtual adult clients Monday- Thursday (virtual clients must reside in Utah).

During the 2024-2025 academic year, Alex provided Child- Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) at A Child’s Place in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alex has worked in a wide range of preschools including psychoanalytic, Reggio- Emilia- informed, Montessori, campus- based, church- based, and social & emotional- focused programs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Utah. In addition to applying principles from psychoanalysis to classroom observations and play experiences, Alex treasures opportunities to engage with children using open- ended sustainable materials, Vivian Paley’s storytelling method, tools from scholarship in Embodied Awareness, and her yoga teacher training.
